About us

The concept of “30 Minutes With…” was conceived after a collaborative effort between Clifford Wallace, CEO of Plug and Play, Benevolence TV non-profit 501c3 and Beverly Morrison-Green, creator of Youth Communications Concepts, during a media summer workshop in 2014. Because the concept was developed in Detroit, the sizzle reel features Detroit based teens with services and stories that benefit them. The overall concept of 30 Minutes With….is actually international and will include major U.S. cities and cities from across the world. Each segment will be produced by young people from those perspective cities.
30 Minutes With Detroit is a video magazine show, produced by students, and highlights 4 segments from a teen’s perspective. The first segment, What’s Hot, introduces topics of interests to young people in their cities and appeals to the 14-21 year old demographic. The second segment, Mentoring Detroit (perspective cities), showcases some of Michigan’s non-profit agencies and how they help young Detroiters. The third segment, Detroit.EDU (each city featured will replace “Detroit”), focuses on educational programs across the state which cater to the specified demographic. The fourth segment, Our Window, gives viewers a glimpse into the accomplishment of local residents who beat the odds. 30 Minutes With Detroit will air on Detroit Public Television’s digital network late Fall of 2015.
